How Helsana gained new insurance customers: a national campaign with a regional approach

The most important time for health insurance companies such as Helsana is the final months of the year. This is when many policyholders decide to look for a new health insurer. Helsana’s trails campaign helped get this period off to a good start. It focused on day-trippers, hikers and joggers around more than 360 Helsana trails in 120 locations.

Our approach
By focusing on the health aspect of Helsana trails, the insurance company wanted to raise its profile among the target group, and, in doing so, pave the way for the upcoming end-of-year campaign.
Working together with our advertising partner SBB, we supported Helsana in its advertising campaign across various channels:
- Display banners on the SBB website and SBB Mobile app (with timetable-specific advertising), the PostBus WiFi landing page and thousands of screens on public transport were used for maximum visibility. The ads were shown only when the weather was good and when near a Helsana trail.
- Another attractive element for customers was a competition where participants had the chance to win one of three GA Travelcards for SBB and PostBus.
- In addition, SBB and SwissPass newsletters helped make people even more aware of the campaign.

Thanks to this campaign by Swiss Post and SBB, we were able to reach and target potential customers in all regions of Switzerland with a national campaign.
