Unaddressed mailings by post

Special requirements apply to PromoPost consignments. Please take these into account so that we can process your orders without any problems and so that you do not incur any additional costs.

This includes the following aspects:

• Make sure that the printer divides your mail items into units of equal size that can be counted easily.
• A unit can consist of 10, 25, 50, 100, 150, 200 or 250 copies. You can also prepare individual bundle sizes in consultation with your customer advisor.
• The units must be bound and stackable and may weigh a maximum of 5 kg.

There are two types of delivery: consignments with commercial content that may not be delivered to private letter boxes that are marked “No advertising” and consignments of an official nature that meet the criteria for delivery to all letter boxes:

Commercial consignments

Mailings of a promotional nature are classified as commercial consignments. These consignments are not delivered to letter boxes that are marked with a “No advertising” sticker.

Official consignments

“Official consignments” are distributed to all letter boxes. These consignments include:

• Mail items from authorities, from federal administrative bodies and public companies, and from cantons and municipalities, provided that the purpose of these unaddressed items is not predominantly commercial.
• Official journals and other official organs of publication.
• Mail items from political parties.
• Mail items from cross-party committees that are specifically related to upcoming elections and votes.
• Mail items of a non-commercial nature that meet the information requirements of a wider public (for example, requests for blood donors/information about construction projects/noise or traffic/interruption to supply lines such as electricity, water, gas, telephone/siren testing).
• Mail items from disposal/recycling companies (clothing and shoe bags, battery bags, etc.).
• Mail items from charitable, tax-exempt organizations that are certified by the ZEWO Foundation (www.zewo.ch) or whose charitable character is undisputed for other reasons; however, commercial brochures with shop items are not included.

Sales discounts

Discounts are awarded from an annual turnover of CHF 50,000.00 (excl. VAT) for the following eligible PromoPost products:

• PromoPost Private customers
• PromoPost Private and business customers
• PromoPost Next day
• PromoPost Single- and multi-family homes
• PromoPost Agricultural businesses
• PromoPost Business customer P.O. Boxes
• PromoPost Private and business customer P.O. Boxes
• PromoPost Saturday
• PromoPost set

Excluded from the discount are surcharges, flat fees, individual customer solutions and rebates.

Sales discounts cannot be combined with other discounts or sales promotion campaigns unless explicitly intended for this purpose (e.g. additional discount for PromoPost Sampling).

Additional discount for PromoPost Sampling

If you send a separate brochure in addition to the sample, you will receive the additional discount for both orders.

This discount is in addition to the sales discount and depends on the consignment volume per order:

Discount eligibility

The agreed conditions apply to the customer who acts as sender (actual ordering party) and is visible as such on the consignment (name and/or logo). The sender details on the consignment must match those on the delivery note. Registered company trademarks belonging to the sender may be included in the calculation of turnover. It is not possible to consolidate brands of different companies and companies with their own legal personality. 

Group and holding discounts will not be granted. In particular, the addition of volumes from third parties or various companies and societies with their own legal personality is excluded.

Discount agreement

Discounts are agreed with PromoPost conditions within the contract for postal and logistics services.

Rebates for upstream services

Swiss Post rewards use of the following upstream services by the sender when mailing PromoPost consignments.

• Rebate for direct drop-off in one of the three letter centers: CHF 4.50 per 1,000 copies
• Rebate for direct drop-off in a logistics center: CHF 3.00 per 1,000 copies

Rebate for PromoPost OnSerts

Do you regularly send over 1 million promotional mailings to private customers on a weekly or fortnightly basis, with delivery from Tuesday to Wednesday? We can then arrange for our subsidiary, Direct Mail Company, to prepare your material electronically for dispatch to the delivery offices. We will grant you a rebate for this.

Invoicing as a PromoPost Set

If you acquire promotional mailings from different senders, you can send them to us as a set for processing and delivery to private customers receptive to advertising. The basic price for a set of up to 25 g is twice the price of a single consignment in the “PromoPost Private customers” offer.

Preconditions

• You generate minimum annual revenue of CHF 50,000 (excluding VAT) with PromoPost products eligible for discounts.
• You have an existing billing relationship with Swiss Post.
